it was a good one. we started our florida trip with two days in key biscayne at the ritz carlton while Bob was there on business. a little poolside lounging, some biking and great food – what’s better than that?
a friend of mine recommended biking out to the cape florida lighthouse and touring the bill baggs cape florida state park so we rented bikes from the ritz and headed out. (not staying at the ritz? there’s some great options right on key biscayne.)
the climb to the top was hot, airless and super sweaty and you should also know it’s a little tight once you’re up there with other people and there’s not much room for more than one body on the widow’s walk. but once you’re there, it’s gorgeous.
at this point we were hungry and thirsty so we hoofed it back down and headed back to the hotel for the AMAZING burgers at the pool. all in all I’d say we biked 5-6 miles, which a year ago I would’ve said “no way josé”, but it was easy and breezy and a fabulous way to spend the morning.
and I wasn’t kidding about the iguanas.
